About Canoe Coaching
The Team at Canoe Coaching
Canoe Coaching is not just us; it is our dream, but there is also a team. Our criteria is simple - do the team love what they do in a canoe? Do they get a buzz from sharing it?
Anna Sibbald
Anna is unfortunately the end to my padding excuses. Why, I ask myself, do I bother thugging my way round a river when Anna can manage the same moves with style? Her particular interest is canoe expeditioning and coaching, and it’s great to meet coaches for whom people matter most. Anna and I were married in May - Canoe Coaching’s gain. Our dog is called Bracken, so far proficient in wrecking trim, falling out of boats, swimming and appearing cute. Both of us will continue to work regularly with the Beyond Adventure team in Aberfeldy.
Liam Walsh
Liam joined the team in summer 2008. Having spent a season in New Zealand, he returned to blast his Level 3 Canoe and Kayak and his 5 Star Canoe.
He loves to be in a boat and gets a kick out of sharing his experience to help you.
Gareth Field
Gareth has paddled since he was small, which for anyone who knows Gareth must have been a while back and has raced kayaks and canoes on flat and white water. Gareth is very in tune with the river environment and makes everything he does in a canoe look effortless. It has been my great pleasure to boat with him and learn from him. Equally it has been my delight to see his coaching mature.
Claire Knifton
Claire is a Level 5 Canoe and Sea coach. She regularly works with us up in Scotland where Canoe Coaching and her company, cknifton.co.uk, often combine forces to provide training and assessment courses. She has a wealth of experience and also has the gift of turning the mysteries of river leadership into a simple, logical, sequenced approach.
