Safety Test
This award has two purposes, firstly, to provide you with the necessary safety awareness which will enable you to ensure the safety of yourself and others. Secondly, to provide you with rescue skills which can be used to help yourself and others in difficulty.
This course has some shared modules for Canoe and for Kayak , but there is a boat specific rescue section in both training and assessment for Canoes and for Kayaks.

Price
-For two people the price can be reduced to £80 each.
-For three people the price can be reduced to £70 each.
-For four or more people the price can be reduced to £60 each.
-Plus BCU certificate fee £6 for members or £12 for non members
Please note: You will need to provide your own food.

Pre-requirements
BCU 2 Star Test for the craft you are paddling.
Swim 50 m in normal canoeing clothing.
Minimum age 14 (the Junior Canoeing Safety Test is the appropriate test award for those under 14 years of age).
Currently the Kayak safety test meets the pre-requirements forthe BCU Level 1 and Level 2 courses in both Kayak and Canoe.
Currently the Canoe safety test meets the pre requirements forthe BCU Level 1 and Level 2 courses in Canoe only.
