About Canoe Coaching
About Anna & Tom Sibbald
Exciting news is that Anna and I are now married - Canoe Coaching is growing and changing as it becomes our dream and adventure.
Anna’s Story
Mountains and rock were my first love in the outdoors and it was many years before I discovered the joys of open boating - frustrations to begin with, paddling a tank, but gradually the joy and satisfaction of canoe journeys, long and short. Both Tom and I love to explore by canoe, and to take others with us is a real pleasure.
Tom’s Story
I first paddled a canoe in New Zealand, 3 days in the huge rock bounded gorge of the Wanganui River. It rained all day every day, the water rose 9 feet one night and I loved it - I was hooked. Canoeing captures my passion and dreams for adventure in the outdoors but a little to my surprise I also discovered that sharing canoeing with others is just if not more as inspiring. Canoe Coaching, this site and my business feels like part of a fantastic journey I have accidently stumbled upon. I love it.
The values I choose, and my Christian belief, are central to the way I coach, and to the expectations you and I will set. For me there is little to beat the absolute delight felt as those goals are conquered. One of the exciting parts of sharing the most beautiful places in the outdoors with others is that often little is said but much of significance has happened.
Canoe Coaching is not just us, it is our dream; but there is a team. Our criteria is simple; do the team love what can be done by canoe? Do they get a buzz from sharing it? The team is excellent and you can meet them on the staff page.
Canoe Coaching was originally based in the Lake District but has now moved to Aberfeldy in Perthshire; but, just like canoes, it travels. We can come to you or we can go together into an adventure of your choice.
